BA-BOOM it looks like your Monday just got real good — Here’s VACATIONLAND #6 Back From The Hamptons, New Hampshire With each and every VACATIONLAND mixtape, the only thing that I can do is strive to be the best it can be. With mixtapes like So Cosmic, 45:33, Tensnake In The House and artists who shoot out A+ mixtapes on the regular like The Magician, Cosmonauts, Tiger & Woods and Zimmer, there’s a lot to aim for. My mixing abilities are getting pretty slick as you may have noticed. Or perhaps you’re a first timer, in which case, welcome to the Blaze-Wave. Fasten your seatbelts, put on your sunglasses and remember to always double check your blindspot.  What does that all mean anyway? Imagine the sound in your speakers is the ocean crashing on a sandy shore in late September, and you’re having a fantastic day, so you go for a long walk and you just-fucking-cruise. Blinders on. You’re feeling the music and you’re feeling great. It’s like your brain just turned into a convertible on a nice day and the speakers sound like you just used Klipsch for the first time. Next stop? Let’s get some Ice Cream, for real.  Blaze-Wave are experiential and narrative mixtapes on top of the best music you’ve heard in the last 30 days (or 30 years). This twist amps it up, and pushes to take creativity in a different direction. From a purely sound design perspective, it’s loads of fun. The process is: find the tracks, figure out how they’ll go together, do a couple of live mix drafts and then layer on the vocals and master everything so it sounds just so.
